In 2013, Stacey was awarded the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, awarded only to those attorneys with the highest ethical standards and professional ability.
In 2015 – Nigro named as one of Long Island’s Top Rated Lawyers of 2015, Legal Leaders.
In 2015, Stacey was appointed by the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, as a Member of the Committee on Character and Fitness of the Appellate Division for the Second, Tenth, Eleventh and Thirteenth Districts, and re-appointed to the Committee in February 2019.
In 2018, Stacey was appointed Special Master to the Mandatory Civil Appeals Mediation Program of the Second Department, assigned to assist the Court by mediating pending civil appeals.
Stacey previously sat on the fundraising committee of the American Heart Association’s annual Golf Outing fundraiser and currently volunteers with the Nassau County Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic. She has also worked with the Nassau County Bar Association’s Moot Court competition for the local law schools and has served as a judge, brief scorer and a member of the team that wrote the 2011 competition problem. Stacey previously served as an alumni mentor for Touro Law School students and as a judge for the New York State High School Mock Trial Competitions. Stacey received the Public Interest Attorney of the Year award from Touro Law School in 2010.
Before deciding to become an attorney, Stacey worked for eight years with Education and Assistance Corporation and was the Director of its Nassau and Suffolk County Mediation Programs. During that time, she trained hundreds of individuals to mediate in the courts under the Office of Court Administration’s Community Dispute Resolution Centers Program, and established mediation programs throughout small claims courts in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. For years, she was an Arbitrator for the Domestic Fee Dispute Arbitration Program operated by the Nassau and Suffolk County Courts.
Stacey is a resident of Farmingdale, New York.
